We've all experienced a season of unforeseen challenges and in the process not only myself, but other women I've talked to have "let go" of some of those important self-care routines. So, I've been thinking about how centering routines, rituals and rhythm is - how necessary it is and yet, how quickly we can fill up the self-care space with what seems to be the tyranny of the urgent. Women especially can subtlelly neglect what centers us and provides a sense of balance.
So, as you read this love note, consider if you might need to restore any of your daily routines of self-care. Set your mind and heart to establish them as a sacred ritual – perhaps, sacred even more so to your soul than your body.
MY DAILY SKIN ROUTINE ~ MY MORNING RITUAL
Mornings start with a fresh face cleanse using either Canyon Pink Clay Bar or Luna, then a spritz of Rose Geranium Hydrosol. I let that settle in and then I apply our lightweight ROSE Rejuvenating Day Serum massaging it into my skin.
Because I love roses and have added new ones to the gardens, I wanted this day serum to remind us of the essence of vintage roses from a secret garden.
NEXT - LEMON WATER AND FRENCH PRESS COFFEE
Rose care is a joy to my soul, so every morning I take my cup of French Press Coffee and meander out to the Cottage Garden to have a peek as to what has blossomed. While noticing those new blossoms, I intentionally listen to the song of the birds.
After a little pruning, I'll head to the Blue Coop to open the sliding door for the hens. They are such a joy and quite personable. Next, I head on over to the goat yard and check in on the girls, replenish any alfalfa and fill up their containers with fresh water.
This is just a little bit of what my morning routine looks like. What about yours? Feel free to share in the comment section. I'd love to hear from you.
xx Lylah
